Four metres beneath the Main Market Square lies medieval Kraków: original merchant stalls, cobbled lanes rutted by cart wheels, a blacksmith’s workshop, coins, tools and even an 11th-century cemetery — all uncovered during the great excavation of 2005–2010 and left exactly where archaeologists found them.
The route mixes the real excavations with holograms, touchscreens and projection — one of Europe’s best archaeological museums, and a perfect rainy-day companion to the square above it. Entry is timed every 30 minutes and slots are capped.
